Photosynth is a free online service that creates a three dimensional model from a large collection of overlapping 2d pictures.

 

Project Ideas:

 

  1. If you do any project in class that involves a large visual display (time line that stretches across the room, decorations, installation art, etc.) this tool could be used to capture those temporary environments to be revisited later.
  2. Display sculpture on your school website in a way that the work can be eplored in 3 dimensions.
  3. Virtual field trips.
  4. Capture theater sets for postarity before they are taken down.
