Description:
|
Create your own educational network for your students, parents, or school. Ning lets you create your own social site online where users can have their own pages (profiles), post messages to each other, or participate in online forums. |
|
Project Ideas:
- Create a virtual classroom for students to carry on discussions beyond class time, express themselves, and participate in extra credit activities.
- Role play by creating a social network of historic or fictional characters. Imagine what it would have been like if a tool like Ning, MySpace, or Facebook were around 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 years, etc. ago.
- Create a virtual gallery or online portfolios of student work. Students and teacher can add feedback/critique on each other's work.
- Invite other experts to participate in discussions and add feedback to student work.
- Partner with a classroom or classrooms in other geographic locations to foster student collaboration on topics of interest.
Examples:
Nings for Professional Development::
Other Educational Uses:
- Create a parent support group.
- Professional Development. There are plenty of Nings out there devoted to education and areas of interest within the field of educaiton.
